Geophysics & analysis

These sections read the data you imported and put numbers on it — contours and colour grids from geophysics, the correlation between grade and a geophysical property, a combined metal equivalent, and the distance from your ground to the nearest road or town. They live at the bottom of the Inspector's Layers tab, under the scene tree.

ES3D does not build geological models. It presents them. Bring a grade shell, block model, wireframe or lithology model from Leapfrog, Micromine, Vulcan, Surpac or anything that writes DXF, OBJ, OMF, a Leapfrog mesh or a block-model CSV, and ES3D will display, slice, colour and animate it in a story. See Importing data for the formats.

Geophysics contours & colour grids

With a geophysics grid imported (Geosoft GRD, GeoTIFF or BIL), two sections appear.

Geophysics contours traces labelled contour lines from the grid and adds them as their own vector layer, so they can be styled, hidden and put in a scene like any other linework.

Colour grid carries the grid's own display recipe — colour table, stretch, transparency, and an interactive sun-position dial with shading. It reaches any grid layer, including one draped on terrain whose recipe controls are otherwise buried inside the drape.

Grade ↔ geophysics correlation

With a voxel model loaded, a correlation card reports Pearson and Spearman coefficients and the overlap between assay grade and the geophysical property — the number behind a claim like “the chargeability anomaly tracks the mineralisation”.

Metal equivalent

With two or more economic metals, fold their value into a single equivalent grade (Cu Eq, Au Eq, …) using editable live prices, recoveries and units. The result becomes a real assay element, so every colour ramp, filter and legend can use it.

The prices and recoveries you used travel with the figure. State them.

Infrastructure proximity

The near-analysis every exploration team runs before writing “12 km from the highway” on a slide, done against your own imported layers. Tick the layers that are infrastructure — roads, powerlines, rail, towns, port — and each reports the straight-line map distance from the project, drawn on the map.

Project stats & grade distribution

Project stats counts holes, total drilled metres, assayed intervals and the date range. Grade distribution is the histogram of the active element, and it hosts the top-cut readout: raise a cap and it tells you how much metal the cap removed, before you use the number anywhere.

Numbers you can stand behind. Every figure here carries its assumptions on its face — the prices behind an equivalent, the population behind a histogram. Nothing on this page is a mineral resource estimate, and ES3D does not produce one.
